IMO it's a drag racing application. If i were you DUBY, i'd go with a 2.3
If you want i'll take you for a ride in mine and you can tell me what you think.

HAH, you're actually going to drive it ? j/k I'll be waiting. I'll call tt and see what it cost to go that route as I'm @ 83k miles and think a rebuild would be good soon. might as well being that i'm replacing half the front end.

call me.

I think that this is inaccurate. The stroke is the same, as the 2.1 uses the stock 2.0 crank, or an aftermarket of the same (88mm) stroke.

The difference is that the rod length is increased over that of a stock 2.0 rod, causing the rod ratio to be better, and the better geometry permitting higher revs...

correct. it has the same stroke of a 2.0l just a larger bore making it closer to being a square engine

It's closer to square because the engine is bored, but the reason that it revs better is that the rod ratio is improved because the rods are longer than stock, which can be done without sacrificing too much in the way of piston skirt length because the 2.4 block is 6mm taller...

He could bore the 4g63 block .060 over to 86.5mm and get 2.1L.

Although, the 4g64 block and 4g63 crank is the version he's talking about, and I'm aware of that.

Just thought I would point out that you could have a 2.1L stroker.

wouldn't be a "stroker" it you bored out the cylinders to increase displacement... term stroker is used only when the length of the stroke of the piston is affected.
