Market for Twin Scroll/Integral gate GT30/35 Turbine housings ?
Hi all , I am going to ask everyone everywhere what sort of interest exists in Twin Scroll/divided integral wastegate turbine housings for GT30 and GT35R Garrett BB turbos .
I think these are the missing link in the range of Garretts Ball Bearing turbos and if enough people show interest it could become a reality in time .
Other manufacturers like IHI (MHI) are producing twin scroll integral gate turbos for Mitsubishi and Subaru so a market already exists amongst OEM's . In fact Garrett already produces a turbo along these lines (GT3576R) though its a model specific diesel truck turbo for Isuzu and Hino .
Personally I believe the twin scroll advantages are too big to ignore , the greatest stumbling block for potential customers appears to be the cost and complexity of external wastegates which can be hard to hide . A twin vent path/swing valve integral wastegate (twin scroll) T3 flange turbine housing would be a very convienent way to mount a GT30/35R turbo on many production engines and get far better performance in the typical rev ranges that street cars are driven in . Better low end torque and a lower boost threshold without mid upper range restriction would be heaven on a stick .
So lets hear it , who would be interested in buying such a thing if it became available ?
Cheers Adrian in Aus .

APS http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/products_int.html use a strange turine housing on some of thier V8 stuff. they have external gates coimg from the exhaust housing rather than the manifold. worth a look.
thanks Chris.
