I got some promble on my Evo9(MR), let me try to explain my car what 's going on

My car already have 2 times check engine light on , 2 times code is said (Engine Over Boost).

My car mod is : Tanabe down pipe
Helix O2 housing
Helix test pipe
Tanabe cat back exhaust
Fujita Short ram Intake with UPPER AND LOWER IC
WORKS Aperture Throttle Body
WORKS Brain Flash P2
HKS Super Sequential BOV

My questions is how can i fix the CEL is not come on anymore , the performance shop guy told me my HKS Bov make the car over boost so he told me take out the HKS bov and put back the factory BOV on the car an try a month, if the car ok he said get another band BOV(have the adjustable that one), he said factory is better than the HKS bov. 2, take out the text pipe and put back factory catalytic converters and didnt make that more boost on my car.

Also i have another friend have the Evo MR too, his car set up is almost same for my car , only 4 different on his car use (Injen Short ram Intake with UPPER AND LOWER IC, HKS cat back exhaust, his car is not MIVEC Tubro Engine, his car is EVO 8(MR) and his car dont have WORKS Aperture Throttle Body ) anothe all is same for my car set up and he NEVER have the Engine Light Come on

So i go to tell myself is the Throttle Body make my car over boost ? so that's why my CEL is on , because my friend car he use factory throttle body. but all set up is almost same for my car

If you do not mind me asking what are you using to read your CEL with? Are you sure it is for Engine Over Boost and not cause of the test-pipe? What does your boost gauge say you are boosting at? Are you hitting boost cut (even if you are i am not sure if that would cause a CEL)?

 

i am not sure is boost cut of what , just the proformance shop the guy use the computer check my cel to said my car have over boost so the cel is on

if you have a boost controlller turn it down, if boost is controlled thru the works flash, call them up or go back to them to fix it, you should not be showing any codes

 

that seems pretty odd if u ask me. did u try reseting the ecu?>??

Tks for reply , let me tell my car story

One day , i put the intake pipe in my car, after intstall drive will be fine , but next day when i drive hard on the freeway the CEL is on (is this time i didnt reflash the ECU yet). Then Next day i go to reflash the ECU from Works. about two weeks in one day when i drive the CEL is on again, so i go to my friend shop to check the code he said is Engine over boost , but this time i already reflash the ECU so that's why i dont know why the cel is on again

Also i dont have boost controller in my car , i dont know why my friend his car never have the CEL is on , both car set up almost is same

works said i need take out the HKS BOV and change back factory BOV , becaues the HKS BOV is make my CEL on

 

the hks bov wont make u over boost, the worst they can do is make u idol bad. take it to works and have them look at it
