EXHAUST FOR MILD TUNING,,tubular or standard ?

i have done what i call stage 1 tuning to an evo 8...which is full 3 inch exhaust, fuel pump, drop in k&n filter and a reflash.......one tuner says that its best to keep the standard exhaust manifold, another thinks tubular style is the way to go......i have a xspower manifold but it has cracked in short order (maybe 3 months driving) but it gave the car a realy nice sound,(very un evo) i am thinking about putting the std one back on.......have any of you guys compared power figures with the std, std ported ,or tubular manifold ? is there a gain to be had apart from the sound for this level of tuning? im also thinking of buying a greddy tubular style manifold if it will make a dyno proven gain over a std or ported std manifold..........what do you all think ?

If you searched you would learn that stock ported is best for stock like turbo. Tubular is for larger turbo's although not necesarry. Buschur uses a cast for his 35R's and runs 9's.

i have put the stock manifold back on for now,,,,,but now the car seems to rev up slower, it also seems to accelerate slower in the higher rev range.....it has lost the nice sound and now sounds like an ordinary evo with exhaust(which isnt that nice) it did seem a little more flexible at 2000 rpm but when you get on the gas it doesnt seem as eager.........im gonna try porting the std manifold to compare......it seems ill be stuck with the farty sound though
