Injen intake vs. stock box vs. ic pipes
I'm pretty interested in that injen kit also, 22whp seems like a pretty good deal for 380 bucks. I already have a 3" tbe and mbc so this wouldn't hurt. I would have bought it this month but I had to get a new shotgun
It does help and it reduces a lot of that flex pipe ****. THe lowest possible number of bends is 3 I believe and the piping on the Injen is like 4 or 5 max so it isn't too bad.
This is my take. IC pipes do not necessarily add power but they add reliability. The stock rubber piping expands under boost and will eventually leak. I even had an Injen LICP but it leaked as well despite T bolt clamps. I now run full ETS piping with zero boost leaks. The only piping that clears the stock battery cleanly is ETS. The only piping that clears the stock airbox is Nisei. No one makes piping (besides OEM) that clears both.
Don't believe Injen's dyno claims. 22hp is bit much for just an intake and some pipes. With a full tune 20+ hp is possible but that is mostly due to the tune, not the Injen parts.
