My ported exhaust manifold and O2 housing

Just figured I'd post these pics to show how my home porting job went. Pretty easy to do with a die grinder and some carbide bits. It took about 5-6hrs doing both, but it beats paying someone to do it. The Butt Dyno says this was definitely worth it.

Yeah, the turbo side is ported as well, but the pics were'nt real clear. In fact I had an extension on the die grinder and was able to polish away the rough cast surface all the way through all four runners.

how much on average does a exhaust mani port n' polish usually cost? Along with the ceramic coating?

Nice job. I did my own turbo manifold and turbo hotside also. Except, I didn't have an extension. I went about 2 half, 3 inches in. I noticed the turbo spools quicker than before. But yea, going outside barefooted isn't a good idea afterwards. i got a few splinters. And I even cleaned the garage and driveway.

Buschur does the porting and coating for $195. Not sure about the cost of the coating, but with the time it takes to actually remove a decent amount of cast iron even with carbide bits, it doesn't seem like they'd make much money on it.

I know it'd go quicker the second time around. I'd do another set for $$90 or so out of NC. Most of that cost is compensation for the heat I'd take from the wife for workign on someone elses car!! I spend enough time in the garage as is. Seriously, though if someone was interested I'd be more than happy to oblige.
