Lets say two of the same cars @600whp, one is 2.3 other is 2.0, on the highway who would have the advantage from lets same a 70 mph highway bomb?
Thanks for the thoughts!

this guy said it. the ultimate drag motor is the destroked 2.1l from ams. it uses a 4G64 block and a 4G63 crank.

i would say the 2.0, because when the stroked car has to shift, the 2L will just keep on pulling with 600 horse for an extra 2K rpm.

I know about 8 months ago I started the same thread and decided to go with the Jackson Auto Machine 2.3 Ltr stroker. Here is my take on the whole built motor thing, either motor is going to run in the 10s and possibly the 9s, make sure that the motor is built correctly, cause it doesn't matter how fast you go, if it isn't built correctly, you probably won't be running fast for long.

I love the 2.3, I am still breaking in the motor and I can already feel the higher torque, it also starts to spool the 37R similar to stock.

A street race from a roll 2.0 vs 2.3 definately going to be the 2.3 It's all about the extra torque and quicker spool.

it would depend on speed started from, distance racing, and other factors. you can't just say a 2.3 will beat a 2.0 with the same peak power in all conditions because it simply is not true. all the fastest drag evo's are 2.0's.

Looking forward to hearing from you after breaking the motor. Jams 2.3 block with hks 272s mated to a gt37r is what i am doing.

Wont be doing rolls just quater mile drags but on deserted raods since we dont have a track other than that use the car once in a while as its not my daily driver.

I take it you have a built 2.0 right? Or you are just talking from everyone else's experience, and yes I can say a 2.3 will beat a 2.0 with the same peak power because the 2.3 will have better torque. The old cliche "it's torque that wins races".

Plus you are getting the discussion confused, the question asked was who would win a race from a roll so quoting the fastest drag evo's are 2.0's is misleading. Even then, all things equal but the block, I would have no problem racing a built 2.0 at Firebird or Speedworld to see if the built 2.0 is quicker. Chances are that it comes down to the driver.

so you think the 2.3's 500 rpm less spool time is going to make up for the extra 2K rpm of peak power the 2.0 has?

on a street race yes. You are forgetting the 15% more torque.

if you have a 600HP built 2.0 then lets find out shall we?

does no one remember a black ams evo with a 2.3L and a 35r that pulled tons of cars on the hwy and kept pulling in 5th gear.
