2.3 l vs 2.0 l

Which is better for road racing and quarter mile racing, 2.3l short block or a built 2.0 l wid high revs and both wid gt35r turbo .
what i need is the car to be quick in 400 mtrs.

Use "da" grammar right.

If you just want to take it to a drag strip, a 2.3L would probably be better. A built 2.0 would be better for Road racing.

400m.. you'd be better off with a green strapped on a 2.3L. Yep!

BTW, we don't *erm* street race on this forum. It's bad and you should be beat with a ugly baby seal.

For the dragstrip get a built 2.0 liter, it would be much better for the quarter mile as you can rev it up to 9,000rpms respectively. With a big turbo like the 35r and the built 2.0, you will make some great numbers down the track and have a huge power band once in boost.

Buksh I am using a 2.4l Bulit 4G64 (Weisco Pistons and Manley turbo tuff rods) with a GT35R on my evo 8. Its a great combo. I can tell u this much. I get 1 bar+ by 3900rpms in 3rd gear, very streetable. I am waiting for the cams and 3.5 bar map sensor to take the boost upto 2 bars.

Give me a month so that I can test my car against a built 2.0l and see the difference. I do have the advantage of the taller block so I can also rev high not as high as 2.0 but higher than a 2.3 strocker I think.

The choice is yours

i would say 2L for drag, but if it's a street/strip car that you drive alot, the stroker. don't know for road race, really depends on how tight or how long the straightaways are on the course.

The 2.0 would be much better suited for drag racing since you can rev up to 9k rpm (with the proper parts and tune of course).

If you can make the same power @ 7k that you could at 9k. Then the obvious choice is going for for the 7k rev. But i've heard that the 2.3 stroker just don't last as long as the 2.0 which is the only reason why I vote 2.0.

agreed, iv heard the same, because of the longer stroke it will cause more wear quicker

The 2.0 is the way to go. You will see more records made with a 2liter then a 2.3 so obviously their better.

you might make the same peak power number, but the difference in spool-up isn't going to be 2K rpm. so you're adding to your powerband. you'll make the same power longer with the 2L, hence why most drag racers prefer it. but out of the corners, it's nice to have the quick spool and torque of the stroker.
