This thread should probably be moved to the new "Alternative Fuels" section.

Regarding fuel requirements, I was maxing out 1000cc injectors with a single Walbro on my previous setup which included HKS 272s, stock block, and a white rabbit turbo. This was at 30 psi tapering to about 26 psi. I believe my issue was related to fuel pressure, and adding a second intank Walbro likely would have helped. At that level, I was making 506 lb-ft of tq and 465 hp according to DataLogLab. I'm still breaking in my new setup so I don't have much data on IDC with the 3065 and stroker setup.

If switching to E85 requires 30% more fuel to get the same power then as far as costs go it would have to be 30% cheaper than 93 to have the same $/miles. Because I like easy numbers that means if 93 is $3.00/gal, E85 would have to be $2.10/gal to equal out.

You won't run e85 because it saves you money or even equals the cost of running 93. You run it because it's $2.49 per gallon race gas and you can run 28 psi all day long. Trust me, after you've done it once, you'll never go back to 93.

Has anybody gotten anything bigger than 1000's to idle on e85 with ecuflash? I'm thinking since e85 takes 30% more fuel, you could theoretically run 1300cc's... correct me if im wrong.

Besides injectors, what other precautions should be taken when switching over to E85? Isn't ethanol corrosive to metal? Will it cause deterioration of the head and combustion chambers? Will it eat up the fuel lines?

I heard that also sonic, but reading back thru this thread, I don't think that is actually the case. METHANOL is corrosive, not ethanol. (At least not as much as Methanol) Unless I read something wrong.

Don't you NEED a standalone to run injectors OVER 1000cc anyway? I know of NOBODY running injectors that large on the stock ECU. IS IT POSSIBLE?

I can't wait to run e85 in my 2g GSX, Lucas and a few other friends have been running it for months with no problems and lots of good things coming from it.

Lucas is the guy who blasted down the 1/4 mile in the 120+ on a stock turbo?? That is HUGE. I guess there is lots on the table to grab by using the E85.

E85 really is impressive fuel. I got too addicted to the power and ignored the fact that the stock internals can't take over 500 lb-ft of torque; now I have a stroker and race ported head. Here is the thread I started as I made the change and started making more power.

Thats 4-5 of about 4 pages worth of 1000cc 500+whp stock ecu setups.

Some Kroger Fuel stations in Toledo sell it. My advice, take a trip to Toledo once a month and fill up a couple 55-gallon drums of E-85!
