Oil Light?

So I noticed a couple weeks ago my oil light was on and then went off. I checked my oil and I was a couple of quarts low at 2500miles. Anyways, I thought lets go ahead and get the oil changed.

Okay got the oil changed drove the car home. Haven't driven the car for a week.
Went to go get some gas and it came on again. Once I started driving it went off.

Any suggestions?

Thank you
Rob

What brand and weight oil are you running? Also being a couple of quarts low at 2500 miles is not a good thing, I know the evos burn some oil but only about half of quart per 3000 miles.

Mobile 1 synthetic 5W-30. This is my second evo and I agree that it shouldn't be that low at 2500 miles.

do an oil light search. same thing just began happening with my car about a week ago. there is a switch behind the block under the intake manifold that sensors the oil. it costs about 25 bucks to replace the part and about an hour worth of time to change. im lazy. my car is fine and i've ran the hell out of it with the oil light on. at first i was scared and turned the car off imediately. a friend came to look and told me the sensor isn't reading properly or what ever. however when driving if the light stays on then its a serious problem. if it goes away with any throttle, you're good. search "oil light" if you need more confirmation on that so you can rest better.

Chances are you're not modded yet, so take it to the stealership and see what they can do for warranty work. I know, I know... It's easy to do though!

Umm, he said he was a couple quarts low when he checked it. I don't know how much oil your Evo holds, but, if mine were a couple low, i'd be worried at 2500 miles.
