buschur stuff.... who knows what?
im a newbie and im really excited about this car. im waiting for my upcoming promotion at work before i purchase but im going to start buying parts before i even get the car so once i have the car, i wont have to wait for anything, i can just get started after i break it in.
my question is...
ive been looking at all the different vendors who sponsor this site, and they all seem to be pretty respectable, but buschur really stands out to me, with their keep it simple attitude and their really reasonable prices. and im thinking about taking their staged approach and adding my own personal touches here and there.
any how, what do you guys think of their products? and if you know of anyone better that i may have overlooked, let me know.
thanks

Actually thats what drew me to their stuff.. Very minimalist, and keep it simple attitude towards mods.. There's tons of AMAZING products out there, and most of what you see advertised on this site are going to be top rate.. But for me I went with the Buscher full turbo exhaust (with high flow cat) their S-AFC, because it came with their tuning instructions, and their recommended manual boost controller.. I do have my eye on other manufacturers, but their prices are definitely reasonable, especially for their exhaust, which appears to be built to order.
The only problem I had with the exhaust is that the pipes weren't flared quite enough on the off-road pipe for it to fit easily, but it was a quick fix.

I'll throw in my 2c, I'm a newbie too (and Evoless as of now) but I've been reading a lot.
Seems that Burschur is probably the best bang for the buck. And he's a well known name in the DSM community for what that's worth.
If you want high quality stuff, seems like RMR is the place, as they have killer experience with the Evo.
Vishnu tuning is arguably the most well respected and **** retentive tuner in the WRX world (see this month's SCC), and he's trying to prove himself in the Evo world, look for great bits from him.
Works Rally... They have a 3 year warranty on all their parts so they are probably going to kick ***, but they seem to be new to the game, am I correct?
More local-style shops like Pruven performance (CT) and AMS (Chicago) are putting together some amazing cars already from the small amount of things that are out there.
The aftermarket for this car is just incredible, that will be a key factor when i make my purchase this fall.

Though I don't drive an Evolution I do have a Buschur cat-back on my Lancer (and have had it for almost a year now). All I can say is, despite my initial fitment problems (minor seating problems that I left unfixed for too long) the exhaust has been amazing. Great tone, great flow and great quality. Nothing like having the UPS guy deliver 10' of gorgeous, mandrel bent, stainless piping to your house either.
great i cant wait! it seems for now i will go with the buscher. however im leaning more towards and electronic boost controller. but the s-afc deal they offer is amazing, im all about that. im so excited about this car i can hardly contain myself.
What about Buschur's intake for the Evo? What do you guys think of that? Does any one try their intake to their Evo? I was shopping for my Evo's intake and so far my choice is Buschur's intake. Their intake is the cheapest so far and looks smaller which is what I'm looking for. I don't really need more power and expensive intake but I think Bushur's intake is the one for me. If you guys can comment on them, I will appreciate all the advice. Just wanna make sure if I buy it, it wont affect the performance of my Evo.
Thanks
Noel
Thanks

I have the buschur intake and don't like it. I will sell it to you cheap. I amswitching to the RMR because ofthe support bracket.
I don't like the MAF bouncing around in there, not good for it.

unless your gonna get some kind of engine or fuel management, stick with the stock airbox.....i have the RMR filter (identical to the Buschur one) and it feels slower than before and doesn't pull as hard.....the only reason its still on there because i might be getting an afc soon but i think ill wait for the afc 2 and in the meantime take the RMR filter off and put the stock setup back on.

In my opinion it didn't lose anything like everyone acts like the lost a cylinder with the thing. Maybe it's just me. Since I plan on going forward with the mods then it's already done. No need to flame me here, I didn't feel any loss with it, just my .02.
I also quantify the performance where boost starts, since this is a turbo car and you can't expect V8 power down low.

I think we need to get RMR or someone to test the car with both on a dyno and tell us if there is any loss down low and what the gain is up top. Christ, we could use that on the exhaust, too since that seems to be another hot topic for "I lost power".
Keep your stock air filter and exhaust, I'll run my RMR **** and we can race. afraid of those gains now, huh?
I really don't care what everyone decides. I made my decision drawing on all my experience in the business. I am happy.

j/kAs bad as you feel it is, I think maybe you have something going on there. I can't remember but what is the rpm at 45 in 4th?
