On the lastest car the results were inconclusive as far as dyno numbers go as we did not pre modication test

Without an A - B comparision it is hard to draw any difinative conclusions

What I can say is that the dump tune seemed to work really well and when I drove the car on the road it pulled and pulled smoothly all the way to red line. My butt dyno says that it is working well.

The dyno results were approx 342 whp on 93 pump[ gas at 21 psi of boost

It seemed that the gas this customer uses was either weak or he had a very sensitive knock senor as this was the 2nd time I tuned this car and the car was very ultra knock prone both times

Looking back at my last map, this time I was able to run 2 more degrees of timing and a bit leaner before seeing knock counts. I cant say if that is becuase of the dump tube or if it was from the cams we also installed the same day

So far we have done 3 cars with this dump tube and each one has really come out very well indeed.

I just wanted to add that the temp was most likely around 85-90 and humidity was ridiculous so the weather conditions were not optimal at all.

The dyno graph is a little misleading if you're looking at final numbers because I'm sure after the road tune if we put it back on the dyno, the numbers would be 10whp or more higher...the dyno runs were on 21psi (i believe, al correct me here if I'm wrong) and during the road tune, al turned up the boost so I'm spiking at 24psi with no knock.

The low end feels a lot punchier and the car is even more fun to drive now. The guys at ICS are VERY cool and the owner was always asking me how I was doing and if i needed anything.

I think the second vid shows off the sound well but man it is LOUD when you're in the car!

great job al!

hey since you live near me, do you think i can check this out in person to see what it sounds like? I am really curious

This was my MR. The "A" picture would have been 306 whp @ 21 psi of boost on a Dyno Dynamics machine. The "B" picture (345 whp @ 21 psi) included Cosworth cams, O2 w/ICS custom DT, and UPIC--added just prior to to the "B" run on the Dynojet. The car is performing well...although I'd like to eliminate those knock counts to which Al refers. My laptop is loaded w/EVOscan and Mitsulogger...so, I'll be doing some pulls to gather road-based data and watch that knock. As soon as I get my scanner running, I'll post the dyno sheets....

Just to add...Al and the guys at ICS worked well over over-time setting up my MR. The custom DT on the O2 outlet is awesome--good power and the sound is likely to scare the skirts of onlookers. The cams keep the car trembling at idle just below 1k...a little trottle and it smooths right out. Aside from the power, I experience far better throttle response than with any other mods.

Edit: I should add that this is the 4rth time Al has tuned my car (plus a base eflash)...so he knows my car well. I'm sure we can work out that knock.

Kudos to Al and ICS for their time and effort.

Edit 1 Sept 07: After spending more time investigating, the knock, as far as we can tell, is coming from either a very sensative or perhaps faulty sensor or something rattling in the engine bay. Part of the testing including getting rid of a shock damper, which believe it or not, resulted in bring knock counts down to <= 3--this particular damper had a very hard rubber core that wasn't actually "damping"...it may have been that not restricting engine movement that severly helped induce whatever else was rattling. Of course, this is by no means conclusive but just what was observed during numerous testing.

what else do you want to know?

until more people are willing to pay for the test, the results are that it made power for everyone tested.

does the wastegate make any noise under idle or normal driving conditions? yes I know how a wastegate works, just want to know if it leaks at all.

Just a note...this is the mod that ICS made to the O2 outlet--fabricated a dump tube to divert exhaust. I don't have A & B data for this mod--you can see my dynos. What I get is a quicker/extra release of exhaust...unless the weld breaks, it's not really going to leak but the exhaust exit will not be dircted downward--this tube points straight down from the outlet. At WOT, the sound cracks extremely rapidly and overwhelms the TBE.

Not sure if I've answered your concern...but I'm not sure what you're looking for.

I dont care about AB tests. How much is one going to cost me? I really want one, but dont want to but another housing just to chop it up. I would rather have one already made. Any Ideas?
