Ok guys this is my problem, i have a good evo9 block, no ecu wiring harness, can i stick my evo8 cams in the head and run it off the evo8 ecu or would this probably be stupid for me even thinking about it.

or use a ix head with 8 cams?

I think he means the head since he is referring to mivec head. Anyways you will need the Evo IX wiring harness and ecu. The VIII cams I am sure that they won't go with with the IX head. If you can get the Evo IX ecu and wiring harness you'll be good to go. You'll just need to sell the VIII cams and get IX cams. Good luck

 

Well he also has no wiring harness for the mivec, that is why he wanted to put the 8 cams in the 9 head so he can use his 8 wiring harness.

 

I figured it wouldnt work and for the record, you cannot use a evo8 head on a evo9 block i found that out the hard way, so i might end up trying to locate a evo9 ecu and wiring harness.

 

Evo 9 ecu's shouldn't be too hard to locate, but the wiring harness will require a bit more effort.
