MBC longevity and or maintenance

I'm at a crossroads with boost controll. Stick with the computer controls, or go MBC. I like the boost hold and response of a MBC, but am unsure of it's long term use and abuse because of auto-x and eventually track days. I would like to hear from anyone using a MBC for track days, and if it has been reliable for you.

I've searched and only hear people complaining about little spikes, and boost drop off, nothing really on overall long term use and maintenance (if there is any needed) I figure the community has been using MBC's long enough to know.

In most cses you can use a MBC for years with zero maintenance other than adjusting the boost levels from time to time as conditions warrant

It would seem prudent to take it apart every year or two to clean it and lightly lube the ball and spring with some light oil

If you are so worry about a manual boost controller then let me give you a tip: It is much much more important to make sure that your hoses are properly connected and no pinched or twisted or cut or loose.

You can also clean the MBC like Dynoflash said. I haven't heard many people with issues as long as you are moderate with the boost. These things are very simple and reliable.

Most MBC's are a ball bearing and a spring. Not exactly a lot of moving parts involved.

You can get replacement springs for the mbc. Like the spring in you mattress, they wear out. It's the integrity of the spring that determines the consistency of your boost.
