hi, as the title said I had my car sent to tuner shop after I got my engine rebuilt they installed the hks 272 cams the mivec ones but the idle is like stock only when you turn it on u can hear the ba ba ba sound for few seconds like 10 then it it dissapears i was told that the cams wasnt retarded alot for perofrmance purposes there is supposed to have 1 hks sporcket and hks timing belt installed i opened the cam cover at home and I found oem cam gears and belt everything black the car had more tourqe probably cause of the flash they add more fuel and ignetion does it this sound normal i cant make sure if i do have them even gsc264 cams u can tell if you have them from the idle but mine no way is this normal ? the idle is like stock i wasnt able to be there for install cause its in faraway city + there was no dyno sheet cause the printer wasnt working he said 40 more whp I am not sure anymore i cant tell thanks for any help in advance.

first off, we dont have any hks mivec cams and i dont know if they are available anywhere else but i have never heard of such a thing, the only two company's i know of that make mivec cams are gsc and cosworth. also a lot of tuners can make your car idle like stock very easily, my friends evo with hks 280's an aem ems and 880 injectors idles better than mine did stock

 

so they only way to know is to open cams I assume

 

The HKS cams are not out yet .. but if you had your car at AAT .. you might have them

yes guys..the HKS mivec cams are out...i saw them and i read the manual...

empror...call me i can take a look at your car...i have installed 2 sets of cams in evos...one of which was mine ..i put the GSC S1s...so i assume i should be able to know if the car is cammed..

Sir, I think you meant to open the Valve Cover and see if the camshafts are "marked" HKS. Did it come with the MIVEC controller?

I heard that is the only way HKS sells their camshafts for the Engines with Variable Valve time, per HKS japan website

 

no the cams didnt come with the mivec controller

and if they installed modified cams didnt you ask back for the oem cams? did you give them away?
