In my 03 8 i used nothing but wix filters.I looked long and hard into them after my local auto parts store owner and friend turned me on to them. I,ve used nothing but them in all my cars since then and no problems. I was told to stay away from fram. He had a wix and a fram in the store cut open for comparison, and you could see a huge difference in the two filters. In my IX i only used the factory filters because i got a great deal on them.If i didnt use the stock one on my BR350 IX i would have definetly stuck with the wix filters. I,m not saying the wix is the best filter in the world but they are excellent and i would recommend them to anyone on any type of car.

I'm not some huge FRAM guy or something, it's what the parts store had in stock so I got one. If they had a Mobil1 I would of gotten it, but they didn't, I change my oil every 3K, so I'm not concerned. Next time no FRAM OK...

K&N is what I use, if you look at the testing data of various oil filters you will find Mobile 1 has a slight filtering than K&N but K&N flows alot better.
K&N has super filtering and flows the best out of all of them
Flow is very important!!

Absolutely correct, Wix=Napa Gold and the cost is about $8. Those are the only filters I use.

I don't think I would ever run a Fram on a 4G63. Or any engine for that matter.

On all 4G63 applications, I use the Mitsubishi MZ690116 filter. It's a great filter, and is manufactured by Denso. 2nd runner up would be Puralator PUREOne.
