I did the same thing. Got it off a buddy and ordered this part. So I would defiantly keep it. How many times are you going to get to mod your evo for almost free!?!??! Try it if you dont like it give it back.

I mean, if its free give it a shot. But I can guarentee you its going to be a waist of your time. Plan to buy a forge recirulating piece or a JDM MR valve, you'll honestly be better off bro. Trust me.

GotBoost, you do have problems and don't know it. IT's absolutely retarded to put an HKS SSQV on a IX when the IX BOV is BETTER~! The only reason to put an HKS SSQV on a IX is if the IX has a huge turbo running huge boost and no longer using the stock MAF (or any MAF).

Eggy, if you really wanted advice, then you should not use the SSQV. If you were looking for an excuse to use it, then go ahead and waste your time and money being a ricer. You will gain NOTHING from the SSQV vs your stock aluminum DV. It doesn't matter if it's free - it should be sold so the money can be used for something that's actually useful.

this is the hard truth. ill admit i really like the sound of a loud bov, but i wont ever be upgrading mine from stock (while im on stock turbo), simply because it is not only a waste of money for no improvements, it is also straight up bad for your car, and not at all designed for it.

I got a HKS SSQV and have it VTA when I got my UICP. Reason I did was becasue later down the road I do hope to run in the 28-30psi range. I completly regret but I had already sold my stock 9 dv so cant go back without buying another. At every other stoplight my car usually stalls. Every time I drive it hard it surges right after shifting so I might as well shift like a grandma or just turn the boost down below 20psi to avoid it. I don't recommend it w/o a recirc kit at all, specially if you have cams. I have a kit on the way that I HOPE fixes it cause I dont want to spend money to go back to what I already had but it looks like it may be worth it.
