Arc Induction Box Ques?

Don't really know who can answer this but I'm looking to go kinda different on my intake setup and saw the arc induction box for the evo at vivid's site. Anyone have it, used it, seen it? I've searched the forums but nothing really comes up. Maybe someone from vivid could respond here and tell us all about it...like whats included in the kit and installation of it and do you guys have it instock.

It is just a air intake box and filter that replaces your factory air box. Please don't spend $379.00 for it.

ARC Induction Boxes are actually pretty good but I went with HKS Racing Suction. I got it for a good deal. PM me if you want one.

I have no personal experience with this product, but my friends in Hong Kong love it for their turbo cars (WRX, EVO and GT-Rs).

I'm just passing on whatever I heard...good luck

Actually, the ARC boxes have beenknown to give big gains on some cars notably the rx-7s. But they are a wellknown company in JApan especially for their Radiators and Intercoolers which are the std fit on many of the JTCC cars. That being said, the box itself is well desgined and technically cound. The box usually has 2 pads on 2 of the box surfaces rather thenthe stock cars single so the surface area is instantly doubled. The box is stainless steel and nicely welded and it links up to alll the factory anchor points. The box size is maximised to give a volume chamber of sorts behind the filter and a big bell mouth takes the air into the induction pipe. I especially like the bell mouth design, simple and proven to be effective.

I agree it is pricey and not as loud as the HKS mushroom but the mushroom i think it almost completely plastic while the ARC is ,much larger in construction and made of stainless steel. Like buying a plastic watch and asteel watch, they both tell the time and work, depends which one you like.... or need

I don't think theres much reason to replace the stock box with anything accept an open cone filter for max flow. CAI makes no difference on turbo forced induction because no matter what the intake charge is, it will go through the turbo and come out a **** load hotter, which is why we have that nice fmic. Just my opinion but you can get an open filter for a lot less money and get the same performance (if any, jury is still out). Intake for me is basically about the sound to money ratio No matter what you get it will be on an evo so its all good by me

The main benifit from the ARC airbox is that it can produce more hp at higher rev range while lower end torque still remain. I have one in my EVO VII and it works great with the Monster Sport Turbo Suction Pipe. Simply Excellent. HKS is not bad, but mushroom type filter will make your motor lose low end power, especially in summer.

I will either go for HKS or the ARC. ARC is mostly used in SE Asia (eg Hong Kong). I have seen many cars in Hong Kong have the ARC and ARC makes the box for almost every car

The gains from the intake on this car are minimal at best regardless of what route you go......
