Your front diff.. I busted one at the track one time and driving home afterwards it would "pop" going around a corner, then the car would basically want to go straight and off the road. Pretty dangerous.

i say you start troubleshooting youre front axles, usually when they go they make that, click, click , click, click sound when youre turning, specially you are saying the boot clamps came off, who knows for how long those clamps where off and they dried up no lubrication,
sugestions call mitsu dealer ask for a mechanic and tell him youre prob so he can give you an input,

DO NOT TELL THEM YOU WHERE AT THE TRACK< BIG NO NO !

Transfercase is broken. Needs removal and rebuilding, reconditioning with replacement differential. Plan on $1000-$1500 without labor to remove it.

Call Jon at TRE. He builds them all day, every day. He will do it right.

then he is an idiot... there is no way in hell you blew both of your cv boots off on both sides of the tranny and it just be an axle that is bad. Listen to TTP .... but you cant call TRE, they dont do Tcases anymore last i heard, you have to call SHEP or find one on here. If TRE does do them, then by all means use them, they have a great turn around time right now, compared to everyone else. Shep as of this morning said it would be about a weak to rebuild a tcase and return it.... which is pretty good also.

Your mechanic is not an Evo mechanic and furthermore it sounds like he knows absolutely nothing about AWD.

Damn that sucks bro. I'll have to just keep crossing my fingers because I have about 100 track passes now. But I don't drop my clutch.
