You broke the front diff! It's obvious from the time you said both CV boots blew off. I've only seen about 10 of these break so far.

Stop wasting your time and take the transfer case apart!

well, remember you dont need to pull the entire transfer case. you just need to get your carrier assembly out. and that is the easy part.

when mine broke, i did not see a SINGLE peice of metal on the drain plug or just looking through the open differential. even when i took out the carrier assembly, where the differntial is inside, i still could signs of any broken peices. it is when i took apart the carrier assembly, where i found the broken metal peices that where wegged in between the diff and the housing. it took me 3 days of trying to seperate the carrier housing and had to resort to heating it up.
