Guide: Remove TC w/out removing ACD line

remove the five unobstructed bolts from TC.
put a 17mm wrench on bolt obstructed by ACD line
use piece of wood and prybar to loosen bolt.
the bolt will unthread completely
viola: Transfer Case removed without disconnecting ACD line

or you can get a open ended wrench and back out the bolt with the tc at the same time... Also i dont know why people are intimidated by bleeding the acd....its not that hard and it only takes extra 5 minutes. just turn the key to on and hold the gas pedal down and tell sombody to break the bleeder screw and your done.

really? that sounds pretty e-z. but still it would be easiest to leave it on. just avoid dropping the transfer case and bending the ACD line. which is exactly what i did, a little, i think its still good.

Bringing this one back.....

I'm about to tackle an EVO9 clutch job on my garage floor.

I do not want to remove the line and have to bleed it as I've seen people kill their ACD pumps by thinking they did it correctly and then finding out later that the $2400 ACD pump is shot.

Am I to understand that you can remove all 6 bolts from the xfer case and leave the ACD line attached to the xfer case? Do you then just tuck the xfer case away? How much of a PITA is it to pull the tranny with the ACD connected to the xfer case?

Also when you leave the xfer in the car with the ACD connected ... do you have to bend the ACD line?
