Exedy Stage 2 Clutch Feedback

i finished installing my Exedy Stage 2 Clutch last week. so far the clutch seems great, but it's taking a long time for me to get used to it. it's been almost 600 miles and i still find myself jerking the car when shifting. i read that i need to rev the car a little more between shifts. i might need to adjust my clutch pedal a little higher. my only concern is that when i take off in first on an incline i can hear a rattling sound around the tranny area until i release the clutch pedal. the noise is more noticeable when reversing the car. i can also feel the clutch pedal vibrating as well. all other gears are fine though. is this normal chatter because i've heard that this clutch is a little noisy. i'm sure i installed the clutch properly and torqued the flywheel bolts to the proper specs as well as the pressure plate. i torqued each bolt on the pressure plate like 5 times.

I would have to say that it is normal. what you are explaining kinda sounds like it acts the same as mine. but its hard to say without actually witnessing what yours is doing. I have also noticed with mine that shifting above 7400+ into 2nd it doesnt like to go into gear. I was told it could be due to it being single disk clutch. but IDK I didnt have that problem before the clutch was installed. thats all I have for ya

yeah i think the reason for the vibrating noise is because im not revving the car high enough. im still getting used to it.

nope no mater if you rev the sucker as low as 15oo rpm or 3k still sucks...but this clutch is amazing on launching if you get your launch limiter raised to 6k...wow car is so fast....

Haha that's funny I have been going through the exact same thing. I have about 400 miles on the Clutch and I'm finally used to it. I actually had to go back to AMS (where I got it installed) and had the mechanics teach me how to drive with this clutch. The whole car would shake and vibrate if you shifted incorrectly and would make clicking sounds. My advice is give it more gas in not just in first, but all the gears and once its engaged remove your foot off rather quickly almost slipping the clutch. Once you've got it you really start to like it. You just got to tame that *****.

The rattling noise is normal for most double plate clutches, don't worry about it. Mine only stopped the rattling when it was finished with and needed changing. They take a while to get used to, but yeah i used to tap the throttle a small bit while changing with this clutch, once you get the hang of it the shifting is relatively smooth...

mine makes all sorts of noise but has held perfectly now for 10k miles. It is always harsh starting out but it's no big deal.

I've had this clutch for a year, you get used to it, those noises sound like what mine makes, and also you get a feel for adding a little more throttle from a stop, I'm getting pretty good at it now, but still end up with some rough take offs from traffic lights...

The thing is, don't try to baby it from a stop, the more aggressive you are with it, the "smoother" it will be.
