All Evos whine a little right?

OK I've been reading pages upon pages and I even started a thread a couple days ago about my Walbro Whine...

However I still have another whine. In first and second gear I can definitely hear a whine. it gets a little louder when I speed up but only under light throttle. it also whines when I decel. It's like a rc car whine. Do all Evos Whine like this?

I read about the death whine...but I cant hear the whine when the car is in neutral or the clutch is engaged. At speeds over 30mph I hear nothing. Am I just being paranoid?

It's nothing really super loud or anything, but it does whine...

Just hope I'm overreacting like always

are you talking about fuel pump ( since you mentioned walbro), or whining in general.
excesive whining is not good, it could be a tc prob.
at the same time, all evo's are relatively loud at everything.

The lower gears will whine a little in the lower rpm's. As for the TC whine, That's usually a noise that you hear in higher gears.

The whine you hear is most likely the same whine that I experience. It's coming form the transmission / transfer case. It's 100% normal. Do you by chance have motor mounts or a torque dampner? That will make it whine even more. If you think yours is bad, you should hear mine. It doubled in sound with the torque dampner. That on top of the whinbro fuel pump just drives me crazy. Nothing a little radio volume cannot cure though!

Is this a new noise you have not heard before or did you just get the car? Personally, my Evo experience has been full of wonderful smells and noises, the majority of which have been harmless. This includes a low speed gear whine. Turn the radio up to mask the noise and drive it until it gets worse or breaks and then you will know for sure!

+1

If the TC was going you would know it. Very loud whine in 3rd 4th and 5th is what you would be getting.

This is what my death whine sounded like. As long as yours is not like that, then your good.

It wines like a 7 year old kid in 1st gear. Isn't first gear straight cut like a lot of reverse gears? It sure sounds like it.
