I'm just wondering why you are suggesting to a guy who obviously drives his car daily and is worried about price to get a clutch which will have a much stiffer pedal while costing more and only holding about 75 more whp. He is probably making right around 340 on the AMS dyno, but his clutch which will allow him to hold well over 550 whp although he doesn't need anywhere near that holding capacity. He doesn't seem to drag race or want to make much more power so why should he_NOT_get the SD PP?

Cost on the Exedy Twin HD for most vendors is right around $1435 with shipping. $1450-1500 is a good deal on it.

Evolution, your link requires a login.

Jordan, you don't choose SD vs HD based off desire pedal pressure. The SD is a very poor PP and is not even recommended by Exedy themselves. I don't know where you get all of your ideas or theories (is it still all from Nick???), but it's really getting out of hand. Are you really suggesting the SD, because you think it's better for pedal pressure??? Come on, that is NOT a valid reason.

I also listed cost and power, 2 things which you did not address. If there is no need for the HD PP, then why get it? Show me why you think the SD is a very poor PP. There is a significant difference in cars with the SD vs. HD PP in pedal feel having driven both I know I will be getting the HD but am not looking forward to it. I said he could get the SD if he wanted, I never advocated it to him. I do not have a ton of experience with either clutch so I cannot say with 100% clarity which one to get but I don't see any evidence of problems with the SD over the HD.

Cost is irrelevant between the HD and SD, and so is power. Just because he doesn't make a lot of power now, that doesn't mean he should get an SD. If anything, he could get a single disk, but I am not too fond of those after my personal experience. Many people said it to me before I made my mistake, and many people said it afterwards - do it once and do it right. If he gets the Twin HD, it will work great now, and it will work great even if he adds a lot of power.

Who said there was no need for the HD PP? It's the only cover that is recommended. If he doesn't want to get the twin, then he can get a single - it's very simple. The substitute for the Twin HD is NOT the SD. I still don't know where you got that idea.

The SD IS NOT RECOMMENDED - IT IS NOT A GOOD PRESSURE PLATE. Jesus Lord almight, wtf is up with you and your 17yo crap? Unbelievable. If you want to go read all the freakin past threads EXPLAINING WHY, then be my guest. If you don't, then use it yourself, but don't freakin' tell other people to get it. It is NO GOOD! Plus, the HD isn't any stiffer than a normal single disk like the ACT HDSS, so I have no freakin' clue why you're going crazy about the pedal pressure. It just makes no sense...

Im going to Purchase the Twin disc HD that AMS sells for 1650 becaues I dont shop online and I live close to AMS. Ima do what you said warrtalon Do it once and do it right. Ill be having it done this upcoming Thursday.

I made an appointment to have the larger intercooler upgrade but this weekend racing a few cars I guess my clutch just went out so I can hold off on the IC upgrade till next month were ill get the AMS IC w/ lower pipe and cams.

Do you think changing my Trans fluids would be a good idea aswell when they install my clutch, I got 17K miles.

How many Miles does the Twin disc Last on average and can the disk mess up your transmission during launch and also is the twin disk ideal for daily driving?

Warrtalon already gave you the answer to this on the first page.
