O2 housing questions
Okay, so I'm in the market for an O2 housing... The question I have is this. Do you retain the stock donut gasket with an aftermarket O2 housing? I don't see how you can if the outlet is bigger??? I'm mainly interested in titek. I don't run a 3'' dp, I run the HKS which is like 2.65'' so I want to make sure this will work. Thanks.
You CAN reuse the stock donut gasket, but you should buy a new OEM one from Mitsu or somewhere like Lancershop. The fitment will be the same as the O2 outlet and the connection to the DP are always the same. I run a stock O2 on a 3" Megan DP and it fits perfect.
there isnt a diff in the mr and the gsr o2 housings. buy an ebay special stainless housing. they also come with all the gaskets you need.
the part off the mr that i think you are refering to is the turbo exhaust hotside. the part the housing bolts to

Actually, I've seen a couple websites that list the MR O2 housing as an upgrade for the GSR's. I've always wondered if there was a difference.

Thanks for all the responses, but the main question I have still stands... The stock O2 housing uses a doughnut gasket and the O2 housing outlet is 2.XX ". I have learned that aftermarket O2 housings retain the stock doughnut gasket. (Buy a new one, whatever.) My question is this... How is the aftermarket O2 housing with a larger diameter outlet, able to retain the same size doughnut gasket??? My first thoughts are, "It can't." Please tell me the real answer. I just got my Titek today. I do not have an extra doughnut gasket laying around to answer my own question. Thanks.
