Not entirely true. If you are using any kind of electronic boost solenoid, including stock, you can wire it to cut boost to wastegate pressure.

If you are using a manual boost controller then you will need to purchase your own solenoid.

Aquamist chose not to supply a solenoid because there are many possible ways to cut boost and many users will not need the solenoid. Rather than increase the price they figured they would let those who need it purchase one.

For example I run a similar setup to the GM solenoid that many people use for boost control. I have the Aquamist kit hooked up to cut boost to wastegate if there is a problem and I don’t need any other solenoids.

Lastly, you can purchase this solenoid for failsafe control for ~$20

The failsafe solenoid that many people use is a MAC valve, here is some info about it.

I also run a zietronix failsafe on my car because I like the added safety. Both the zietronix and the aquamist DDS3 are great failsafes, combining them both is just awesome.

any way the increase in power isnt much unlessyou play with the cf on the dyno
like mr Friedman did to show me a power increase with the greatest wai systems.
WHAT A GREAT ''TUNER''.

You do not need to "play" with anything on the dyno.

Our kit has been used to run 10.9@130mph on stock IX turbo WITHOUT ANY DYNO TUNING.

I would venture to say we picked up power.
