i have a evo 8 and i currently have tbe, mbc, fuelpump, intake, licp, fmic, magnecor wires, and ss o2 housing.Now its time for cams and am wondering what cams are best for what i plan to do. After cams i plan on getting meth then going to a larger turbo like gt30 or gt35r. the car is my dd but i wouldnt mind a rough idle. I mainly drag race but plan on road racing as well. which cams are for me. so far im looking at gsc 280, hks 272 or 280. any other suggestions.

any info is appeciated and how are the powerbands diff on these cams.

Call Buschur and look into his new BF cams. You will need the springs but these are the real deal.

 

im on a budget i cant upgrade the valvtrain yet and im probably going to be buying used.

i found a good price on gsc 280 how do they compare to the hks 272 or 280 or s1

 

everyone's on a budget. No one wants to waste money. S1's are the best bet. If you're restricted to buying used because of budget constraints, you're on your own. Buy what you can afford, but you get what you pay for.

Our cams are not for your build though, they work best with larger turbos.

The HKS 272's are your best bet if you are sticking with a reflashed ECU.

 

go with the 272s we have gsc s instock alond with there 280s i wouldnt put s1 on a 35r or a 30

Personally, I think the HKS 272/272 cams are the best all around cam, especially on the stock turbo.

 

HKS 272/272 are your best choice of cams .

 

+1 they are sapposed to be amazing cams as long as your going gt30r or bigger

yeah you guys are correct. Even though I have GSC S1's in the car, I'm not totally blown away by them like everyone claims. It could be other factors too, I'm not sure. Or maybe cams just have too much hype. Now my idle sucks nuts. I'd accept that for a monster of car. Not for minimal gains.

 

If you are going a bigger turbo go the Tomei cams. They rock. I have the 272 cams but plan to go up to the Tomei's.
