Installed my Cosworth Cams!

Well, I had a couple days before I started my new job so I figured what better to do than install my cams. First off, I don't want to do that AGAIN! haha. I give a lot of props to the shops that can do these installs in 3-4 hours. I would say it took me about 8 hours to complete this install. This was also my first time removing and installing cams. So I took extra time to make sure I was doing things right. I had to make a few runs to Fleet Farm because I didn't have a big enough wrench and the How-To was for an VIII. The IX cams have a much bigger nut to break them lose than the VIII's. Anyways here are a few pictures I took along the way. I stopped taking pictures around midnight because I just wanted to get it done.

So far not to much of a lobe with these cams. I haven't driven it yet. I just started it up twice to make sure nothing blew up.

Let the fun begin!

Access to crank the engine:

Sorry for the sweet angle

Vavle cover off:

Another:

Cam gears disconnected:

Cam angle sensors removed:

Exhaust Cam = Cosworth / Intake Cam = Stock

Stock cams OUT!!!

All buttoned up ready to be started:

not much of a lobe. My cossies have a pretty good bounce to them. We had a hard time keeping the idle right the first time, and then we updated the idle tables in Ecu flash so that we could get the idle right.

Yeah. I forgot to mention I took her out for a drive and once she was warmed up there was a nice lobe.

I haven't really ripped on the car since the install. I need to change my oil soon as well.

My stock idle was at 500ish rpms. We bumped it up closer to 800.

Do you have any plans or see any need to upgrade the springs/retainers?
