Anyone have experience with the BR Evolution Pure Power Package?

It seems like a great bang for the buck package. 330whp for $2,200 doesn't seem too bad considering I'm still driving a BMW. Turbo kits for my car start at about $6,500. About the same results too. Active Autowerke claims 380 hp, a 4.66 0-60 and a 12.79@110 from their Stage I turbo kit which sells for $8,700. Wow. So would BR be a good route to take or are there other companies that can piece together the same type of package that will net better gains? Thanks guys.

The power package is a great package for those that just want only power. As it states there isnt any "bling" just power. We sell quite a few of these as it still keep a stock look under the hood and is a substantial gain over stock.

I however am **** about things and like a good looking engine bay so I like the polished pipes, wires tucked away, huge battery replaced, etc....

You're only in Cleveland. Thats not far at all from us. Feel free to stop in. I'll be glad to show you around, answer your questions and let you see what we have to offer for the Evo. We are open Monday-Friday 9am-6pm EST.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll be glad to lend a hand.

Take care!

+1

I haven't been to a dyno yet, but DLL shows me in the 325-330hp neighborhood (running 21psi boost on 93 octane). The options are in my sig. It might be a little more fun to do your own mix/match, but I figured that BR had a lot more experience than I do.

I put adjustable cam gears on based on some other stuff that I read here, despite the negative views on this that some have voiced. Not done doing my testing with different cam timings, but I think there are some significant gains to be had. OTOH, there may be better places to put the money. Currently running -2/-2.

The tune that BR/Dynoflash developed for this seems safe enough, as I have only experienced significant knock count on WOT one time (immediately after sitting in traffic for 25 minutes ..barely moving).

I am really impressed with the MBC. It is great for something so simple...I have no problems holding the desired setting within about 1psi from torque peak to redline. I was going to get a used Greddy Profec from a friend, but decided there was really no need.

Air filter and exhaust are definitely performance oriented. AF sometimes sounds like Darth Vader under the hood

I did the O2 housing at the same time as the exhaust install. If you decide to add that to the package, be aware that it significantly complicates the install process. Search for more info on this. I ended up pulling the exhaust manifold and removing the hotside from the turbo to get better access. Removing the radiator may be a better bet.

I haven't bought anything from Buschur (my car is completely stock), but they have been helpful in answering questions the few times I have spoken with them. On top of that, they have a good reputation here, and their results do all the talking that is required.

Also, it seems that most of the people that heckle them routinely are partially illiterate, which really doesn't do much to harm my opinion of them. Almost the opposite, in fact.

What does a stock evo make on that dyno? What kinda AFR and timing are you running? That just seems really high for an intake/tbe/mbc on a dyno dynamics

220-230WHP and WTRQ on a stock evo. I made 295/279 on my mail-in flash but a custom flash yielded the 329/325 at 11.8:1 AFRs.

lol Well now you do.

Night Under Fire is a great time! No none of our cars will be there. At those events they dont take real kindly to Imports. That and they dont allow AWD cars to run as far as I know.

If you need anything let me know!
