Lost first and second gear?????

I just picked up my car from getting the clutch rebuilt, and the car was driving awesome till i got about 5 min away from my house. I was at a stop light when i go to put it into first and as i let out the clutch i hear a slight grinding noise. I try it once more and i hear the same noise. Go to put it back into first and it will not go in like i was pushing against a wall. I was able to put it in second and drive it home the rest of the way, after i pulled into my driveway i noticed first and second completely gone like nothing is there. Every other gear was in working order. Could this have something to do with the clutch install or is there something internally wrong with my tranny? I dont understand how i can just lose those gears the tranny showed absolutely no signs of wear. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

sounds like the 1-2 shift fork is broke. But that has nothing to do with a clutch install unless the shop was beating on the car during test drive, before you picked it up.

there is a plastic bushing inbetween the two shift linkage on the outside of the transmission if its nit there it wont have a first or second gear. If its missing this will cause the shifter to look like it goes into 1st and 2nd gear but its acctually in 3rd and 4th gear.
