Boost leak test materials for evo IX

So...is it just me or is it absolutely impossible to find a 2.5"coupler. I've scavenged home depot/lowes/auto zone/most auto shops I could think of. I even called a few plumbing supply stores, who have advised me that the they don't make them in that size. They bounce right over 2.5" and go to 3". Am I just gettin the shaft, or is there a stash of 2.5" couplers someone is saving? Any advice or alternative suggestions would be great. I'm seriously tired of having this boost leak.

Try Ace Hardware..

if you cannot find it you can always get a 2.5-3.0ID transitioning coupler and find a 3" O.D. PVC cap, and make it that way.

HTH.

I suppose I'll look at lowes again. Hey, I heard something about using radiator hosing as a substitute. Anybody tried that or know if it's proven?

I feel you on that one. I was trying to save some money though. It looks like I might have to spend that extra 10-15 bucks

The home depot's in houston have everything from .5"-3". All, except 2.5. Freggin nuts. But what I wound up doing is what the guy off of vfaq.com said and got a radiator hose from napa. hopefully it will work. I am trying it now.

So... I just attempted the boost leak test. I wasn't even able to get the damn intake piping off the turbo inlet. It's crazy. The clamp that tightens the two together is in such a position that I can't possibly get a screwdriver to the bolt tightening down the clamp. Starting to get really frustrated. Didn't know this car would be so much of a hassle. Does anyone know the name of a tool that might swivel and allow me to get a phillips screwdriver in an odd spot?

the fighters garage boost leak tester looks like a pretty nice unit. Alot better than my ghetto rigged one. Might have to just spend the money and get a nice one. Awesome it has the built in guage

Mine was a bish too! I got it off by going under the car with a rachet, extension, and swivel socket. I of course made sure I put it back on so I could access it easier later on.
