Meth injection question

I was curious what the disadvantages would be of running a kit without a progressive controller? I understand that there are advantages to the tune and getting the a/f just right and a smooth progression as boost increases. I'm just wondering if I'm only running the meth as a secondary map such as you would run a racegas map, can I get by and get the same amount of effectiveness running a kit without a controller? This is the kit I'm looking at. Please don't turn this into a "don't be cheap when it comes to meth" thread. Like I said, this is not a kit I plan to run on a daily basis. Just to play around with if I feel like running 28-29lbs or so. I know it has to be monitored closely to ensure all safety precautions are taken.

WI kits can be had for around 300 and are much safer then that kit. Spend the extra hundo to save thousands if she goes boom. Plus that kit doesn't even come with a tank you have to make your own. Save the hassle and find a used SMC kit.

inconsistencies of a progressive pump speed injection system:

when running a on/off system, do make sure you got a GOOD failsafe that will cut boost to WG pressure incase of loss of injectant.

there might be open slots left in this GB - excellent components, excellent failsafe

i would go with an on/off system...i have the SMC kit and to try to tune meth/water progressively is a pain in the *** and not worth the hassle considering the gains from just having it on during boost anyway. so im saying dont even consider spending the extra money for a progressive kit.

So, even if I were to only use this as if it were replacing a racegas map, which would only be ran some of the time, this wouldn't be sufficient for my needs? I mean, I could see getting the failsafe, progressive controller, warning meters, and whatnot if this was what I drove on daily.

failsafe is a must when you inject a lot of methanol that will allow you to have racegas performance. does it mean that you can run it without...yes.

a failsafe is ~$300...a new engine, a whole lot more

bottom line is you dont know when a injection failure will occur...just dont get caught w/o a failsafe
