anyone have a Clevite part # for Evo8 main & thrust bearings? Before I disassembled my engine I was informed by some older posts on these forums and others that 7 bolt 2G bearings applied, now that the engine is apart and I have 2G bearings I find this is definitely not the case lol. The interesting thing is in my Clevite book I list a part # for "Lancer 92+" but ironically enough it is the same part # as the 2G 7 bolt part # so needless to say Im not ordering those.

I know AMS and some other places sell Clevite bearings for the Evo 4G63, so what gives. What application are you all using when looking these things up? I guess my Clevite book is outdated or something.

It is the same as a 2G motor, but when you buy the Clevites for a 2G you don't get the thrust bearing on the Evo with the 2G set. MOst end up getting the thrust bearing seperately from Mitsu. Its a seperate bearing.

ACL makes it for the evo. Try it, its just as good. They have the race series too.

 

OK thank you for the info. My question is, if I use the 2G bearings then what do you do for the #3 journal? The 2G bearings on #3 have the upper AND lower thrust built into the main bearing. Obviously you only use thrust on the upper in the Evo. So if youre suppose to buy thrust washers from somewhere else I am also going to need a main bearing for #3 that doesnt have thrust washers built into them. The 2G mains with the thrust built in is way to wide to seat into the main cap/girdle assy.
