Trans noise

I just had an ACT street clutch and light flywheel put on. I had it installed about an hour away from my house. When I picked it up it was fine but as soon as I got about ten minutes away from home the car started whining. The whine gets louder the faster I go. I took it out a couple of hours later and it started doing it worse and then started to make a loud chattering sound. It's really weird cause it doesn't do it at idle or when driving slow. We checked all the fluids in the trans and diffs and they were fine.

The car whines from 2nd gear all the way to 6th only while accelerating and in neutral. That probably normal because it a noisy clutch. It the loud chattering and weird metal to metal sound that bothers me.

It does it the worst upon acceleration when you first hit the gas really light.

The weird part is that it stops when I let of the gas when the car is IN gear but it does it again as soon as I hit the throttle again or take it out of gear and coast.

It does not go away when I push the clutch pedal.

Any help buy an ACTMAN or any other experts would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of fluid did you put in the your 6 speed tranny. and is it a hdss.so it does this while accelerating and coasting in neutral to a complete stop what about at a stop and reving it with the clutch engaged at a complete stop.

It's not the heavy duty clutch if thats what your asking. (hdss) It doesn't do it at a stop. Only while driving in 2nd or higher. It only goes away when the car is in gear and giving no throttle. He used the mitsu diaqueen fluid in the trans. Also the ACD fluid in the reservoir goes down lower than the minimum when the car is hot then comes back up to the maximum after the car cools down. Is that normal? Where is the fluid going if its not leaking?

sounds to me like your acd might need to be bled. did he use the same diaqueen he put in the tranfer case cause thats the wrong fluid. there are to types of diaqueen one for the transmission and one for the t case. s for the noise i would deffinetly check the t-case fluid i would probly try and top it off make sure its full.

It was full and he drained it and refilled it and it was the right fluid. I did bleed the acd again yesterday and that didn't help.

I doubt it he does them all day long. He is very dependable. Plus there was no damage on the case cause I looked at it.

Sounds just like a trashed Transfer Case. If it whines like a siren under the floor at highway speeds, then that's most likely your culprit.

Sorry to hear about it. Maybe it's time to call Shep. He's cool, though.

The whining isn't whats bothering me it's the scraping loud chattering sound when I hit the throttle while cruising. Plus the whine isn't that loud that I can't live with it. I know it's a noisey clutch and flywheel but it can't be this noisy. There is absoutly nothing wrong with the way the clutch grips or the cars driveability. I just can't figure it out.

sounds like whoever installed your clutch just busted your transfer case probable on a launch to see if the clutch would hold

But the funny thing is that it didn't do it when I picked it up. It started like an hour later.
