Tune required for intake filter?

im very interested in the buschur cone air filter kit but i was wondering if i need a ecu tune after i get it installed for it to work properly? i was gonna go with the mass air pipe bundle. is it necessary or do i only need the filter?

Was this before he retuned the car for the Open-Air Filter? I would assume before it was tuned, otherwise, that result is very odd.

do you lose hp from the filter over the stock box without a tune, kinda like a CAI? i thought a cone filter was a little different from a CAI...

I tuned my car using the stock air box w/K&N filter & no lid, then switched to an open air cone filter and lost power according to my trap speeds @ the track. Once I retuned for the cone filter I was able to make up all the power I lost and then some!

Cone filters, the right cone filters, make more power then the stock air box. Its not an earth shattering difference but it's a difference one the less.

Yes more than likely. I would just put a K&N panel filter in until you gather up a bigger mod list to get tuned for.
