what happens if we drive the car without the snorkel, just on the stock intake filter? what r the disadvantges that will lead?

 

hahaha....why would you want to take it off????are u getting an aftermarket intake.

but i doubt it would change anything

 

The snorkel helps direct outside air in there. I have a cone filter and still have the snorkel in the car to help direct outside air in there. Just make sure the two poppet fasteners are on there good.

 

my snorkel got cracked and i took it off to change it!
it seems that the intake is collecting hot air under the hood and thus the intake air is way too hot! so do u believe this will lead to knock retard due to the air hotness?

 

It could.

But without logging it you will never know.

 

I use the snorkel on a cone style intake.

With it I receive 1-2 counts of knock.

If I remove it that goes to 5-6.

Put back on 1-2 counts again.

Why use a cone-style intake at all? How does it improve air flow or air cooling? Most of the engineering-based tuners say, just drop in a K&N filter into the stock airbox.

 

i heard that no need to change to cone-style intake! dropping k&N filter is more than enough!
