ASX Snorkel

Was doing some internet trolling for some custom ASX parts. Always liked the look of the Ralliart's with the snorkels. I have no idea what this website says, but looks like they offer a ASX Ralli-art snorkel. But at $1000, no thanks haha. Just though I'd share

I bet they've sold between zero and one of those at that price...

haha, yeah, that would be my guess too. Would look kinda cool if you where going after a more off roady rugged look. But definitely not at that price.

Uhm..

I'd rather spend $88 and just Mod (it to fit) my own out of this one instead >

Yeah, I agree. I like the look of the one you posted better. Would need a LH side mount. There are a ton on eBay for less than $100. Nice too, because the front trim panel is just plastic, would be easy to cut and not too expensive to replace if you end up replacing.

Actually, there is so much room under our hoods that you can easily route additional tubing to make this RH snorkel work.

Personally I like the RH mounting position.. just less stuff blocking my view or getting in the way of my door if I happen to scrap/bump/rub against something while seriously off-roading.

unless you're driving through lakes and ponds on a regular basis, that's pretty ricey if your main use of the OS is going work, the mall, or grocery store.

Haha, good point. My wife and I are moving to Washington state next month and plan to use the OS on some fun trails and over landing. I have an Nissan Xterra now, but the miles are getting up there. Trying to make our OS as trail ready as possible. It has pretty decent ground clearance.

If you want the car to be "trail ready" in WA then a metal skid plate would make much more sense than a snorkel.

Keep in mind though that the OS will never be "trail rated" as it was never intended to be. Had you stayed in AZ and ventured to the Sonoran Desert for some fun the snorkel might have also made some sense.
I understand that many of the mods are for aesthetic purposes only on a street car like the OS rather than doing much good. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it could be viewed by one as nice and by someone else as ugly.

Good looking skids. You'd be surprised what the OS can do. My wife and I go to Flagstaff AZ a lot and it conquers rough fire trails like nothing. We have aggressive AT tires on it and that helps a lot too. Definitely going to look into those skids. I think a snorkel on an OS would be a bit ridiculous.
