Need suggestions of possible problems! HELP!

Ok let me start by saying that this isnt my car, im posting for my friend. So last night i was waiting for my friend and he calls me and told me he was driving normally and all of a sudden the car just shut off and wont start... I met up with him and we thought the fp went out, i had my oem fp in my car so we swap them out realy quick.. Tried to start the car again and it kinda wanted to start and then there was clicking sounds coming from the motor. Sounded to me like bent valves but im not 100% sure on that.. We checked all the ic piping and nothing. Checked all the fuses also.. In the last 2 days he installed a fmic and a HKS DLI so im not sure what ****ed up. His mods are the EXACT same mods except he has a fmic with intake and ic pipes and HKS DLI

Update:

He just called and pulled out the spark plugs and one of them was broken completely.possibly the piston hit the spark plug.. Dont know what could have caused this when he was cruising normally

Compression/leakdown test is your next move.

Did you ask your friend what he was doing before he told you he "was just cruising" when it happened?

No, he just said he was driving normally and the car just gave out... Theres metal shavings when he took out the spark plug, im assuming its from the plugs its self and hopefully not from the piston... Hes about to put new plugs now and see if it starts

We changed the spark plugs and no luck.. Also there little metal shaving in the oil.. Im guessing that the spark plug that broke was done when the piston hit it.. He said when i got there last night that the fuel pump may have gone out so another possibility is that the car ran lean and cracked a piston when the pump went out

stock pistons? Seen it happen on numerous cars including one of my friends. Do a search on it and you'll see there are quite a few on here. The stock pistons seem to have air pockets or something in the casting and makes them weak and they tend to break.

Best of luck to him.
