HKS Evo IX cams and tune results

Ok here it goes. I posted this already on the norcalevo forums so I thought I'd post it here.

Mods before cams:

TBE exhaust, fuel pump, drop in filter, ecuflash tune I made 285whp on 91 octane (yes crap gas)

Added 720 injectors HKS Evo IX 272 Cams

It's summer so temp's were in the low to mid 90 degree area on 91 octane gas

300whp/300ftlbs

Car feels great and pulls hard. Obviously with better gas I'd do better but in Cali 91 is what we have to work with. Later I'll do a race gas dyno but for now I wanted to post the pump gas results. Andy sampled the car to 7400rpm hense the drop off in the end

Great numbers! That's almost exactly what my VIII w/ HKS 280's makes. You don't by chance have a graph from before the cams on this same dyno?

unfortunately I don't because the injectors were installed at the same time as the cams so the retune was needed pretty much right away.

No MBC? How much boost are you running? I'm just trying to figure out how much loss is attributed to the 91 octane gas.

Why did you choose to change your injectors? I'm sure the stock ones would have been fine with your mods.

I don't have the other sheet on me but I believe its a 23psi spike tapering down to 20 psi and past 6000 down to 18. It was suggested i pickup a gm solenoid. I'll grab the other sheet tomorrow I think its in my glove box. Yes I have a hallman mbc. I was told my injectors were pretty maxed out and planned for future mods so I went ahead and picked up the 720's.

I'm not a tuner by any means but I'm surprised to hear that your injectors were maxed out on a mildly modified evo. Anyways, the 720's are a good upgrade incase you go Green.

Funny you say that because that's what I had in mind. But regardless given the circumstances I'm happy with the gain I have with cams. The power comes on pretty damn fast now and just goes

What temperature was it when you dynoed 285whp?

Also, something is wrong if you were "maxxing out" your stock injectors with your mods.

Did you retune after the cams?
Did you change boost after the cams?
Are you using the stock O2 housing?
