Clutch Pedal Is Sticking

I've noticed that for the last few thousand miles my clutch pedal sometimes doesn't come all the way back to the disengaged position and i have to put my foot underneath it and nudge it back up. It doesn't do it when I take my foot off the pedal quickly so it can move quickly into place, only when I do it slowly.

It only sticks about 1/4" from it's rest position and well after the clutch itself is engaged. It's almost like there is grime or something somewhere. I tried some WD-40 on the cylinder press rod and it didn't help.

Anyone know what could cause the clutch pedal to stick sometimes about 1/4" before it's "rest" position? It isn't' affecting driving or clutch engagement at all and the car drives fine. It's just annoying and obviously something either needs to be lubed/cleaned or something I haven't thought of is occurring.

try bleeding the clutch hydraulics and see if that helps.
It strange that the mechanical problem you are having doesn;t effect the clutch engaugement at all...

Mine also does this and I find that the toe on my left boot is blackened due to always pulling up on the clutch pedal. I don't think it effects the clutch engagement, but I could be wrong. I also have lockout sometimes when I am shifting at high rpms. I have replaced the bushings along with the front motor mount with poly ones but I am still getting this at times.

Clutch pedal doesn't fully return to resting point?

I have the same problem too. Clutch engages/disengages and shifts fine, but am constantly pulling the pedal up with my toe. I bled the clutch thinking that would solve the problem...and it did for about two or three days. Now its back to pulling the pedal up with my toe again. One thing I did find strange is after opening/closing the bleeder valve, the clutch pedal stayed to the floor when my wife released it. I had to pull the pedal up with my hand. Is this normal or should the pedal return to its normal resting point on its own?

Slave Cylinder... If you've blead the clutch and it still isn't right, that would be my guess.

Well, first things first. I've adjusted my clutch master cylinder (clutch biting point).

I've only driven the car into work this morning but I didn't see the problem.

I'll tackle the issue step by step
1.) Adjust clutch master cylinder. (done)
2.) Bleed clutch fluid.
3.) Replace clutch slave cylinder
4.) Pedal drops to the floor completely... time for a new clutch

Will keep this thread updated.

Sounds like your slave cylinder to me. I had the same problem where the clutch would just stick to the floor and you would have to nudge it back up. Take it to the dealership. It is covered under warranty.
