Somone told me Cold air intakes mess up turbos

Hey, I'm just wondering if this is bull**** or not.. I'll be getting an intake pretty soon and one of my friends told me not to get a cold air intake even though i'll get more performance because the cold air supposedly messes w/ the high temp. turbo and ruins it... What do you guys think I should do?

Thanks

HAHAHAHAH Well u will be hardpressed to find a "cold air intake" for the evo. However cold air is a turbo's best friend. The most important thing with the evo is lots of the time if u install any intake without tuning for it, u can actaully lose power and not run properly at times(stalling and poor idle).

Wow you have alott of research and learning to do man. Theres only like 2 cold air kits for Evos and not worth it. 1st thing your goina havta learn is an intake without a tune and your goina loose power. Our MAF are sensitive. Enjoy your car and get to reading.....alott!!! lol

Not worth it? Now worth the money or not worth the performance? I have the APS cold air intake system and i love it! I did pay a pretty penny for it but there a plenty of guys on here that have this same setup and are making good power! The dyno will not really show the power this intake can make, but when your going down the road and air is being forced into this intake, I am certain it will make power with a good tune. But if i had to do it again, I would opt for probably the buschur intake with the hard pipe

The stock intake is a cold-air intake. In fact, you would have an very tough time finding an OEM intake system that wasn't nowadays. Auto engineers didn't get to where they are by being inept.

Its been proven on here that they dont make anymore power than most of the other intakes on the dyno. I understand what your saying bout road conditions though, But then you have the whole worrying bout sucking up water (least where im from). Not trying to dog on yours man. They look realy good under the hood. I have the Buschur and like it. Had the AEM when i bought the car and
