FWIW I had the similar set up on my Camaro. I had the delima of either tune N/A and risk it on nitrous or tune it nitrous friendly.

I really wanted to have the best of both worlds and being into building fast cars now for 14 years. I knew there is timing retarding equiptment. That can be activated via switch. Looked into a ignition box for extra spark and found Mallory makes a box that has a built in retard, window switch, boost retard, two step. Really nice piece. As for this thing working on an EVO.....I have no freaking clue. I am new to the EVOs actually have not bought mine yet. Will do so in the next two weeks.

If you can put a msd box or any type of ignition amplifier then I would think this would work.

Get the car tuned for whatever boost you want to run. Then tune the nitrous using the fuel and N20 jets. A 50 shot doesn't need any timing adjustments.

Many folks are running 26psi + 75 shot of sauce on 100 octane.

 

+1 a 50 shot on a stock ECU should require no changes. If it has been flshed with more timing, you may need to back it down a bit. This really does beling in the nitrous tuning section

Here are some more questions for you:

1. What is the best way to spray NITROUS? (I won't be using the term NOS anymore unless I am refering to the company themself) I am wondering if I should spray when I need to with a button (like in 3rd or 4th if I need to) or if I should just have it set up with WOT and use it whenever I race.

2. If I set it to spray WOT, how will this affect my 2-step launch control? WOT while staging at the track with nitrous spraying, is that good? Or would it be something like a WOT setup, but I turn it on after I launch?

3. If my car is tuned for nitrous and it will be fine to run my nitrous(50-shot) map even when I am not spraying, if I were to spray and something malfunctioned with the Nitrous I would still be good right?

4. What is the best kit?

5. And a wet 50 shot on an Evo is actually more than that to the wheels, right?

I would figure out which kit you want first. Many people on this site seem to recommend NX(Nitrous Express). Then contact them with your questions about setup and all.

I like to use harrisspeedworks dot com these guys were some big help.

As well I have gotten some great prices from Nitro Dave.

 

1. use a WOT switch, when u get a kit there will be a arming switch u will have to arm first before u can spray. without this turned on u can go WOT all u want and not spray, once turned on when u go WOT it will spray.

2. to use your 2-step with the nitrous on and armed, get a window switch from www.dynotunenitrous.com this is an amazing failsafe to save your motor if u miss shift or overrev. u can lock out first gear and set the rpm range that u want the nitrous to spray.

3.running a 50 shot you shouldnt have to pull timing out, so ull be able to run the same map that u are when youre not spraying.

4. there are a lot of great kits out there, i use the harrisspeedworks kit and its an amazing piece, NX is good too.

5.yes when u spray a 50 shot ull see about a 75-80 whp increase

I understand your point. Is it a rule you can not support non sponsoring vendors, even I have used them for past three years for many different cars? Only one other guy did I respect when came to nitrous. He owned compucar back in the 90's. That dude was a guru too.

TTP I understand what you are saying but when asked about a specific kit/what someone is using I don't think it is wrong to mention it.

Granted I have never heard of it and would only recommend ZEX or NX.
