I will be getting the RnR Racing catback this weekend. It's 3"
mandrel bent ss piping. Will let you know how it does. Hopefully they will have the downpipe in too.

I have seen HKS stuff on the TT Rx-7's and it is not that great. I think you pay a lot for the name.

I think I'm just going to get Custom Cat-Back with the HKS Carbon-Titanium Muffler. I'll do a Downpipe later when More mods will be on.

Is this about quality or exclusivity? because if it's the latter the best pipe to get is a support post for a chain link fence bent to fit from the Home Depot.....jeeez

I am looking for quality. They had a exhaust for the NSX that was $12,000 and they never sold one. I don't car WHO makes it as long as it fits well, flows well, and holds up with no rubbing and I don't want something loud as hell.

Check VRS Exhaust in Miami. I got their cat back for $480, Full SS, 3" diameter, Muffleer & premuffler. Looks great sounds good (not very loud at all ) and it seems to make more power, particularly at the high end where it used to choke (that really sucked)................

Oh, sorry, you asked for full exhaust... I think VRS is going to be making the down pipes soon.. Oh yeah, my friends and I installed it and the tip was not perfectly lined up in the bumper. I called VRS and they asked me to take it to a shop and have it taken care of and they'd pay for it! It only cost me $20 bucks so I'm happy and I'm not even going to bother Miguel with the small amount....

How much do all these 3 inch SUS exhaust systems weight?? Are the HP benefits VS Titan that great?? If they aren't pushing much more HP than I'll spend the $$$ to save weight and get even better performance with the weight reduction.

I'm waiting for the Hayward & Scott.

They are making one for the USDM EVO8 at the moment and Ken @ Rallyperformance said they'll be getting some in with their next shipment.

The HP gains or losses from the various exhausts are very similar as long as the design is the same. A 3" catback with minimun bends, an a straight through can is gonna work the same as any other cat back made that way. Hell, it's only a pipe!
The weight is probably a bigger factor, but really, I can just go on a diet, lose 10 pounds and I'll be as light as the guy w/ the $1600 Titanium catback (and healthier to boot)
The quality is another important factor, there are some crappy products out there, and some of them come from very well known brands... I think unless the stuff is welded up plain wrong or very poorly, the biggest differences I've seen are in the looks department and in neat little details like hollow hangers, etc.
For me, a decent looking exhaust with a good tone that will open up the car's breathing is good enough. I think those polished exhausts look very nice but I'm not convinced they are worth almost twice of what I paid for mine...
