Cool am i crazy jdm 9rs turbo (magnesium)

I hear everyone stating that these turbos when the boost is turned up they fail. Does anyone have any real reports on this. I have an hks evc and im looking to run stock 19 psi daily and for fun 23 psi. My goal isnt a drag machine but just an awesome responsive car.

thanks

Jeremy

AFAIK, Mitsubishi has warrantied quite a few of them. I don't know for certain but I've heard, the problem tends to arise when the boost pressure is turned up.

Cool

thanks guys.

but i wonder how far up. Like are we saying 20 psi and it goes boom. I could live with 21/22 psi. I have not picked one up yet. Im considering purchasing very soon. Im waiting to see what the wait time is to get one.

IMO it isnt worth getting. You already have a good turbo with minimal spool. If you want faster spool you can downgrade to the 9.8 hot side or use the TME.

Not sure why you would do that when you already have a IX turbo that has no failure problems. There's also no reason to run lower psi daily than what you run "for fun" unless you're changing octane. 19psi is BELOW stock boost...
