Talking ECU reflash by WORKS

The ECU in the Evolution is amazingly simple to remove.
It requires less than 4 minutes of your time.
I removed it in the morning and sent it out "next day air".
WORKS received it the next morning.
WORKS did their magic and returned it "next day air" that same day.
Installing it took less than 3 minutes.
The car started, and ran flawlessly.
Can you say easy power gain?
Now the car runs like it should have from the start.
The power keeps coming all the way past redline.
The brain reflash is a no brainer.
This is the easiest and cheapest way to gain power.
How else are you going to get this kind of power gain without getting your hands dirty?
Do yourself a favor and call David.

Does it really pay to push past 20PSI? from what I have read it seems like 21PSI is the upper limit, beyond that the stock turbo isn't putting out much more ( if any ) power.
(no sense beating the **** out of your turbo for 5hp)

Thoughts ?

From what I've read so far, it looks like peak boost hasn't changed. Which is good for me personally. I killed 2 T25 turbo's in my old eclipse due to raising the boost.

Maybe it holds boost a bit better past 5k rpm, coupled with an advance in timing.....it looks like 25-30hp extra is a safe bet. Not bad for 450 bucks!

Right, I agree, I think holding stock(ish) boost to redline sounds good.

I have the Buschur intake.
It sounds funky but I can't say my butt dyno noticed 5 hp.

I removed my muffler just for kicks.
It is very simple and small.
I drove like that for a while but I put it back on.
I am waiting for the exhale from works.
They should have them very soon I think.

Dude, you are going to pay $300 to $400 for a couple of feet of tube with one bend in it The only thing that makes it expensive is that it gradually gets bigger from where it hooks up to the tip which gets you a whole lot of nothing. Just go to a muffler shop.

If you're going to raise boost beyond stock specs, keep these in mind:

* Is it worth it (consider the power to cost ratio)?
* Am I going to melt anything with the increased heat?

You can only go so far with the stock turbo before you break something. Bolt-ons and tuning will be sufficient (and easy) to reach 300+ whp and to some people - that's enough. But if you're a HP freak and want more, just upgrade your turbo, build your motor with internal upgrades, bigger IC, tune with an advanced tuning device like the AEM EMS (is it out yet?), etc.

If I have the ECU reflashed, can the dealer tell? I want to know so that in case something does go wrong I don't have to worry about warranty issues. Do you know the details on exactly what the flash does besides just holding boost all the way to redline? Can the 16g really hold almost 19psi all the way to 7k rpm?

No they can't tell by running obd.
Thats not to say it is impossible.
I guess anything is possible.
If your dealer has the right equipment they can tell.
The chances are one in a billion though.
I don't know of any car dealer that has the equipment.

Do you think a muffler shop will have the exact item I want just sitting there waiting to be sold?
