What turbo do I want? EVO9 or GREEN turbo?

I got to thinking about this a minute ago & at first, I thought I was SET on the green. But, for right now, all I want is 400whp. Once I hit that mark, ill eventually upgrade to 500whp. Right now, mid 11s would make me happy. I figured I could just do evo green to get to 400whp on pump gas, or I could do evo9+meth to get there.

Or should I consider the 20g upgrade? I'd really like to get to 400hp on pump gas, but meth is ok too.

Thing is, EVO GREEN is 1850 shipped with the evo8 install kit. (Do I have to send in a EVO9 turbo to get this done, or does that include core?)

I figured I could just get a EVO9 turbo for $500 +$100 install kit, +$550 aquamist hfs-1 kit = $1200 max for 400whp, instead of $1850 for the green for the same thing.

What do you guys suggest? What would you do? Obviously with the evo9+meth setup, I can get that right away, but the evo green ill have to wait. I can always sell the evo9 turbo later & buy the green, so its not like its that big of a deal or a hassle really. LMK!

well i have done both turbos. . .the evo 9 with meth is a good set up and a lot of people run that. . .on the other hand the "GREEN" turbo is a very popular turbo right now. . . i would get the evo 9 and meth cause eventually your going to get the meth anyways and you will have the nine turbo to give to whoever for the green. do you get what i am saying. . .get evo 9 turbo with meth. . .

tough decision......i was thinking Green, but then when you listed the costs....the 9 turbo with meth does sound like a better deal.

Stock cams? I'd fix that with some HKS272's or something of the like

EVO9 + meth... you can always upgrade the turbo at a later date.

Green. With teh green you can get your 400 and you wont have to run meth, which could lead to engine failure.

buy a 9 turbo for $500 and send it it to get a green rebuild for $1000

Total cost of a green = $1500

What about that option.

Yeah if you have the time, take the 9 turbo, send it in to get converted to a Green. The wait time is less now. Add meth to the Green and youll have some serious fun.

Have you taken your car to the max with the stock turbo? I was running 383 with the stock turbo and meth. Finishing bolting in the other options first before you do a turbo upgrade....

You have sooo many other things to do before a turbo upgrade..... You can come close to hitting 400 whp on a stock turbo and with as much as you have left to do unless you don't have everything listed in your sig, that would be the wrong approach in my eyes....

1. cams
2. meth inject
3. VSR intake
4. cam gears
5. ignition upgrade(coil over plug)
6. Injectors
7. Flash or stand alone

you at least need #'s 7, 6, 5 and 2 to do a turbo upgrade but when you add all of those together that is a very stout stock turbo car. People are running 11's on stock turbo's, it just requires seat time.

I would look at doing other things before just bolting in a turbo.
