A number of high HP DSM 4g63 users would put a clamp around the oil filter after installation and safety wire it so it would not rotate until they wanted to remove it. $5.00 is cheap insurance to save a motor rebuild...

Ive had the oil filter start to back off ony one time and it was on my current DSM. I blamed it on the built head, poly mounts, and removed balance shafts. You also have to becare full with the 91-99 cars that have the liquid oil cooler that is crushable when over tightened. I have the 90 housing with a Setrab external cooler.
