Big problems on my drive home, blown motor?
So I was driving home today and I got on it once and took it to 7k and I started to hear what sounded like a tin can in my engine. The sound got louder and quieter with the rpms. It kind of sounded like a belt slipping or something. Anyways as I am almost home I am pulling up to a red light but still moving forward in second gear and something happened that made my car slow down and it made like a grinding sound. The best way I can describe it is that it felt like something in my engine compartment had fallen out that was dragging on the ground and slowing me down. Imagine the radiator or tranny falling out of your car and dragging it, that is what it felt and sounded like. I immediately pulled over and checked everything out and everything looked fine. I own five body shops in the area so I was just going to leave the car there and have our tow truck get it on Monday but I figured I am almost home so I started it up, and it sounded completely normal and I drove it home slowly. When I got home I revved it to 4k to see if it would hear anything and it sounded completely normal. I got out of the car and looked under it and I see a bunch of oil. The problem is that I didn't pay attention to see if the oil was there when I pulled in. I checked my oil and the level was fine. I then got a flashlight and started looking around and I see what looks like oil around the exhaust manifold at the first cylinder. About an hour later it was still driving me crazy that I didn't know if that oil came from my car or not so I had my girlfriend come out to my car with me and look under the car while I revved it to 4k a couple more times and nothing came out. Obviously it doesn't rule out that it definitely didn't come from my car but it didn't when she was looking. What really sucks is that I just installed S2 cams, an ams gt35r and a few other things just two days ago. I was running the car on a base tune and was going to finish getting it tuned tomorrow.
Oh, also when I got home I checked my ebc to see if by any chance I had gone past my previous peak boost and I had. It read 30.1psi. I have no idea how this happened because it hasn't been touched but that is what it had recoreded as the peak boost. I know this is way too much for a stock block and if that is correct I am pretty sure that is what caused these problems but I still need to figure out what the problem is.
I think your engine is fine....Have you done a compression test, leak down test? Did you leave tools in the engine bay? Have you checked whether you have an exhaust leak? What is your oil pressure at idle and at higher rpms?
The tune was not finished but it was tuned conservatively so that I could drive it until we could finish tuning it. And no, I have not done a compression test or anything. I will look into it more tomorrow. I am going to have my tow truck pick up the car and take it to the shop so that I can start looking into it. I just wanted opinions as to what it might have been. I thought maybe the noise was from a spun bearing but I have no idea what would have caused the car slow down or drag the way it did. I guess tomorrow I will take out the spark plugs first and then maybe drop the oil pan but I just wanted opinions from others on this forum as to what I should check first and if anyone else has experienced this.

why did you have the lady stick her head under the car?? Does she really now what to look for?? or is it you don't trust her to hold the rpms @ 4000??
keep us updated on the tune!
good luck.

I definitely don't trust her to hold it at 4k. And I found out she didn't know what to look for because when I finished I asked her if any oil blew out and she said yes I saw two drops. I looked and it was water from the a/c.
Check your vacum lines that go to the waste gate make sure there still in (hope you had them zipped tied), check the oil filter, oil pan, oil lines, ect for damage and make sure nothing is loose.
Sorry to hear about that, hope is less than what it sounds like!
