Question Dim stock gauges

I love everthing about my new Evo, except the dim stock gauges. I have turned the dimmer dial all the way up and they are still difficult to read. I was hoping for some suggestions. I have seen some replacement faces, but nothing yet for Evos. Hep me!

Anyone Anyone....Bueller Bueller?

Anyone notice their main gauge lights are very dim? I am taking my car into the Dealership on Tuesday to have them inspect the tranny for the decel noise and would have them check this out as well.

Capt Crunch,

Any luck with the dealer? I noticed the gauges are really dim at night. Would replacing a higher watt (safe) bulb help? While I'm in there, is there an easy/quick way to change the color of the gauges (amber to blue/white)?

Actually i'd like to reverse things a bit. I want to make all the controls around the center dash match the gauge color (red/orange) Anyone ever thought about doing that?

Kdogg, They said the tranny noise was normal because of the straight cut gears. They indicated the brightness was also normal. In twilight, you can't even see them. I was thinking of using a brighter bulb. Also I have seen alot of aftermarke faceplates, but I have not seen any for the Evos. Anyone else done this or seen any?

There was a thread about changing the center dash bulbs. Look it up. It even has step by step instructions.
