Stock ECU swap

I bought an evo that was missing a lot of parts and one was the ecu. I replaced all parts and bought an ecu and the car will not spark or turn on fuel pump. I bought another ecu and the same thing. Do you have to flash it to accept the key??? I am getting signal at the crank position sensor and cam position sensor. Please help!!!

havent done this myself, but i am 99.9 sure that u need to flash the imobilizer code in. thats for the key and what not. i know you need a tactrix cable to do so, or you could bring it to a tuner.

good luck

In the words of the Service Manual:

If the ignition key, Immobilizer-ECU, ECM is replaced or an ignition key is added, encrypted codes of all the ignition keys must be registered. (A maximum of eight different ignition key can be registered). Moreover, when the immobilizer-ECU has been replaced, you will need to use scan tool MB991958 to register the mmobilizer-ECU and input the vehicle secret code and to register the password secret code) that the owner spec-ifies into the immobilizer-ECU.

At this point finding out what the key code is probably will help.

How would I find out the key code? Would the dealership flash the ecu for me?

Since the key code is transmitted via wireless Its likely the code is encrypted in some way. Mitsubishi may be the only entity that could scan the codes for you.

Or you can have it flashed to disable the immobiliser completely. This is far from the best choice, though it will allow the car to at least be driven to a dealership and not towed.

I betcha Mitsubishi can pull it from your VIN.

They probably won't give it to you unless you prove ownership, and key in hand tho.
